Cowboy Heaven by Cheryl Brooks

Cowboy Heaven (Cowboy Heaven, #1)Cowboy Heaven by Cheryl Brooks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I would classify this book as comedy, camouflaged with cowboys on a ranch setting. A lucky rancher's daughter has a bunkhouse full of cowboy Casanovas: the hitchhiker (who shows her how desirable she still is), the broke legged (who has loved her from afar) & the shy/goofy (his ears aren't the only thing that is big). These men are ready to compete and drop trou to go for the win. There are a couple serious moments in the book, enter crazy cowboy.

Worth the Risk by Claudia Connor

Worth the Risk (The McKinney Brothers, #2)Worth the Risk by Claudia Connor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book two in the McKinney Brothers series. Stephen & Hannah's story.

Two broken souls are seemingly drawn together in order to heal. It's not an easy journey and trust has to be earned. Hannah lost herself as a young girl, when she trusted the wrong person and it nearly killed her. Finding the farm & horses saved her, using the farm & horses to help handicapped children keeps her going. Stephen lost his love when his fiancee was brutally murdered. The only thing that eventually slowed his downward spiral was diving into his work. When their two worlds collide, Stephen does his best to keep her dream a reality. Unfortunately two outside forces want to see both fail, while earning a huge profit.

Love the McKinney Brothers and their women! The emphasis on family is stronger than ever. Plus there were horses in the book, as a horse lover it adds bonus points!

This is the fifth and final book of the Blinding Love series. A spoiler-less review :)

The results are in, now Evelyn has to let go of the man who isn't Lucas' father. The next two months are basically a blur of doing just enough to get by and care for her son. She finally reaches a place where she is embracing the reality of her new family, only to be blindsided by betrayal. A few weeks later, trauma drama shock & an act of surprising selflessness ensues. In all, I believe Evelyn, Craig and Matt each got almost everything they ever wanted (and needed).

Read it... really! Can't help but enjoy it!

The Vigilante's Lover, Vol 2 by Annie Winters, Tony West

The Vigilante's Lover II (The Vigilantes, #2)The Vigilante's Lover II by Annie Winters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

WOW!! Book 2 of the Vigilantes series just set the bar high. So much so, that I forgot about the cliffhanger. Yeah, I was that engrossed in the story! Picking up where it left off, Jax & Mia escaped from the Vigilantes and the silo but in the process Mia was hit by a poisoned dart. Jax found a safe place to hide so he could disable the car and give her the antidote. Sam & Colette (spy friends) arrived and Colette was given the duty of delivering an unwilling Mia back home to Tennessee. Mia discovers items in her late Aunt's home that proves it was a safe house. Unfortunately not safe for her because she wakes up in the middle of the night to once again find herself tied up. It's not Jax this time, but after the lesson he gave her about undoing knots, she was able to surprise her intruder and secure him. Grabbing his gadgets and "smart car", she leaves her home behind and sends a message to Jax with her location. This would be where the lover status begins. Does it end with a bang?

Want It by Jennifer Chance

Want It (Rule Breakers, #3)Want It by Jennifer Chance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

This is book three in the Rule Breakers series by Jennifer Chance. Erin & Zander's story.

Zander & Erin might be young, but they sure didn't catch any breaks. Erin was forced to grow up quickly due to her ignorant, frequently absent mother. Her want to please personality made it easy for Zander to take advantage (even if he didn't realize it at the time) during their two years of dating. He was always chasing the next thrill, which terrified her. The relationship ended the night she called 911 and changed his future. Four years later, Erin is put in a dangerous bind by her mother. She wants to get advice from Zander (who is home on leave to attend his father's funeral) and and schedules to meet with him. Zander became an Army Ranger and even though he struggles with his feelings for Erin, he has the expertise and contacts to keep her safe. The journey to rescue her mother allows them to run through the gamut of emotions that has been bottled up for too long. Just when it seemed they were back to good, they had an explosive conversation and the truth about Erin's past comes out. Upon arriving home, they leave the airport separately and Erin doesn't know if she will see him again.

An action packed, long lost love read! HEA. Can be read as a standalone.

This is book two in the Shattered Past series by Cecy Robson. Brody & Lety's story.

It's one year later and Brody is trying to convince Lety to give their relationship another chance. Lety still feels that she isn't good enough for him. Brody disagrees and doesn't give up. He knows all too well just how much he understands her pain, and he has the scars to prove it.

The smiles hide their pain. Despite the scars they bare inside and out, the love & trust for each other break down the barriers that kept them apart. Simply amazing and moving story!

Book 1 of the new series, SWAT, by Paige Tyler.

The Dallas SWAT team is a pack of 16 werewolf shifters, handpicked by Gage, the alpha leader. Their true nature is a secret, a secret that may be discovered if the determined journalist, Mackenzie, gets her way. The fact that she may be THE ONE for Gage makes him wonder if letting her into the compound is going to cloud his judgement and the safety of his pack/team.

LOVED the book! Sixteen hot shifter alpha male eye candy is a woman's dream come true! Add being heroes to the mix and I was hooked. I sincerely hope that more SWAT books are to come.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book two in the Burnt Boot, Texas series by Carolyn Brown. Sawyer & Jill's story.

Sawyer started as ranch manager at Fiddle Creek the same time as Jill (the owner's great-niece) comes to work at it. The ranch is located between two feuding families, who want the land & the water rights that run through it. With Jill set to inherit, both families battle for her attention. Sawyer is also seen as a prize to fight over being the hot, new cowboy in town. The pair decide to team up & have each other's back against all the craziness. The pig war ensues, the feud escalates... Sawyer & Jill are exhausted but getting closer while running the ranch, town store and town bar. Meddling/matchmaking great-aunt's, gossip & kidnapping (twice in one night!) keep things entertaining. Sunday naps that turn into date night and shopping for items that have history and/or meaning make a great friends to lovers romance.

I love this town and it's residents!

The Vigilante's Lover, Vol 1 by Annie Winters, Tony West

The Vigilante's Lover (The Vigilantes, #1)The Vigilante's Lover by Annie Winters
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review

Reading provocative letters from a kinky man in prison is the only excitement in Mia's life. So imagine the shock of waking up tied to the bed in the rope & knots the man standing at the end of bed had wrote about. Jax is demanding to know who she is, where is his friend & who she is working for. Jax believes she is working for his ex, who was responsible for his imprisonment, so therefore doesn't trust her. Declaring the "safe house" compromised, Jax drags Mia along on a road trip to the closest Vigilante silo with hopes of learning the truth about Mia and clearing his name.

High tech gadgets, from cars to keys. The Vigilantes know all, so a network of spies? Dual POVs. Minor "first base" action. A change of pace from what I normally read, fast paced & kept my attention. Cliffhanger! Very excited to read what happens next!

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

With no preconceived notions about what to expect, I would describe this book as "long lost love". A young couple's relationship hopes are ruined when his mother and her father have a whirlwind romance, ending with an annulled one day marriage. Emerson disappears from Abby's life for eight years, reappearing from the elevator at her new job. Despite a few reservations in her mind, the love is stronger than ever, allowing their relationship to pick up right where it left off. HEA

I found the most scandalous behavior belonging to Abby's grandparents.
